What is Internal Smart India Hackathon

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving. In SIH, the students would have the opportunity to work on challenges faced within various Ministries, Departments, Industries, PSUs and NGOs to create world class solutions for some of the top organizations including industries in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds from across the nation

All participants with different levels of experience, professional and academic backgrounds, diverse skill sets were part of the teams; what matters most was their commitment to making an impact and willingness to collaborate.

Objectives of Internal SIH

1. To harness creativity and expertise of students.
2. Providing spark to institute level Hackathon.
3. To support the massive Startup India campaign.
4. Crowd source solutions to improve governance and to raise the quality of life of the citizens.
5. To provide an opportunity to get innovative solutions to India's daunting problems.

Internal SIH 2024

31^st August 2024 (12 Hour Hackathon)

Total of 45 Teams having 270 participants competed against 31 Problem Statments with 152 Male participants and 118 Female participants.

Internal SIH 2023

26^th to 27^th September 2023 (24 Hour Hackathon)

Total of 45 Teams having 270 participants competed against 31 Problem Statments with 145 Male participants and 125 Female participants.

Internal SIH 2022

29^th to 30^th March 2022 (24 Hour Hackathon)

Total of 30 Teams having 180 participants competed against 31 Problem Statments with 107 Male participants and 73 Female participants.

Internal SIH 2020

17^th to 18^th January 2020 (24 Hour Hackathon)

Total of 31 Teams having 186 participants competed in this hackathon.
